Interview with Lynn Painter

It's time for a very special episode of YA, We Read It! in which Meggie and Laura are sitting down with author Lynn Painter to discuss her writing, the midwest, and her most recent novel Fake Skating. (This is very exciting for us!!!!)

Crowntide

It's time the 4th book in Alex Aster's Lightlark series and Laura and Meggie are ready to portal themselves into Isla's ever-unfolding story. Now that Isla's gone to another world entirely with her own plans to defeat Lark, Grim and Oro are forced to work together to help her any way they can. But, that's going to prove harder than anticipated considering she's in another world entirely... Don't you love when a love triangle brings people closer together? We sure do! 

Skyshade

It's book 3 in Alex Aster's Lightlark series, Skyshade. Picking up directly after the massive war on Lightlark that was supposed to (in Isla's eyes) cement Grim and all of Nightshade as the evil beings they are, she's instead learned that before her memories were taken she actually died in battle, Grim saved her life, and they fell in love and got married -- whoops! So she's going to feel out that whole situation by returning with Grim to be his wife, but as you and Laura and Meggie know, there's sure to be another obstacle for our fateful protagonist just around the corner. 

Nightbane

Lock in, it's book 2 in the Lightlark series: Nightbane. It's after the Centennial and Isla is staying on Lightlark enjoying the stress of her win as she learns more about her powers and contemplates how to rule 2 realms. More stress? Sure! Isla is slowly starting to get all her memories (that Grim took away) back. MORE? Absolutely! Nightshade is coming to Lightlark to destroy it once and for all. Tune in as Meggie and Laura review it all!

Welcome to another episode of YA, We Read It! where once again Meggie and Laura dive into the romantic world of another Lynn Painter novel: Fake Skating. Alec and Dani were once best friends but after Dani moved away they became basically strangers. Fast forward years later, and Dani is back in Minnesota and Alec is the school's most valuable hockey player. The two friends turned foes quickly turn into a fake relationship but both get more than they signed up for as real feeling quickly start to develop. 

Nothing Like the Movies

Laura and Meggie are SAT for the sequel to Lynn Painter's Better Than the Movies, titled Nothing Like the Movies. 
Two years after Liz and Wes got together and we all rejoiced at the romance unfolding on our pages our little lovebirds are no longer together (right? we were shocked too!). But now that all this time has passed Wes is ready to give things another shot he just has to do the work to convince Liz that this time will be nothing like the last time. 

Better Than the Movies

If you ask us the only thing better than the movies is Meggie and Laura finally returning to their microphones for Season 18 of YA, We Read It!
